The Bhakti Art Project

initiated by Hari Bhakta Global Community

We acknowledge the significant of art in facilitating self-expression and communication. This project enables village children to convey their emotions and gratitude through sketching and painting. We believe that engaging with art forms like drawing, painting, writing and drama allows individuals' to open up the heart and leading to a happier and more mindful life.

The project aims to promote mindfulness and spiritual health among children in Mathura Villages in India. Meanwhile, it also facilitates connections with artists and individuals who came from different countries to understand the Culture.

About the Project

Art is a form of therapy that effectively supports not only personal and relationship but also addresses broader community concerns and connecting with individuals. It can help individuals explore the emotions, foster self-awareness, and improve overall well-being.

To promote this therapeutic application of art, Hari Bhakta Global Community, with support from talented artists, has initiated a project named as "The Bhakti Art Project".  This initiative highlights the transformative power of art and help for children development in different ways.

To foster mindfulness, spiritual growth, and awaken bhakti of each participants, The Bhakti Art Project brings positively impact to children by providing them with a platform to creatively express, explore, and engage with their cultural and spiritual heritage and ultimately to bring a happy and mindful life.

How do we plan to execute the project...

Creation

We are planing to create and publish a coloring book of the stories of Lord Krishna, Radharani, and the Holy Cow. The images are contributed by volunteer artists or devotees from around the world, who add their own interpretation and understanding to the Divine. We do not impose strict regulations on the artists but allowing love energy to flow during the creation. This process allows for inspiration and creation through a divine touch. So far, we have received five submissions from international artists in Taiwan, Hong Kong, Japan, and the US, all contributing beautiful art pieces to the project! Moreover, this is a global initiative aimed at spreading love within communities.

Collection

Artists unfamiliar with Indian or Hindu culture are strongly encouraged to participate in the creative process.
Why? When we start dialogues with artists, we share the ideology, culture, and stories of Radha-Krishna. Through this interaction, artists can gain a deeper understanding by visualizing and researching the narratives. The divine love, Bhakti, is awakened and rooted through the medium of art.

Compiling

Once we have gathered a certain amount of artwork, we begin the intricate process of typographic design and compiling the stories for printing as a colouring book.  This task involves not just the physical act of organizing and aligning the text, but also the creative aspect of making sure the design complements the stories. It requires certain amount of resource and time for starting the meticulous tasks.
In addition, financial support is crucial in this phase as we need to ensure that we have enough funds to cover the cost of printing and other related expenses.

Painting class with village children

We plan to conduct painting classes as part of our activities. It can accommodate 50-70 children per session. To encourage their creativity, we'll need to provide coloring books, colored pencils, and stickers.

We welcome volunteers of any country and background can come to teach painting skills, mindfulness meditation, and storytelling (education of the importance of being Karma Yoga and Bhakti Yoga!) . If we can secure sufficient funding, we aim to extend this program to various villages in Mathura, serving more children and more wisely,  and potentially, we can also expand to different states in India!

Our goal is to foster children's creativity, love, and devotion, and to offer them joy and positivity through art in  children development.
